The desire to know and be known isn’t new. Everyone wants a place to belong, to be connected and in community with others. I know that you have a desire to be that place for others – but you don’t know where to begin. It’s common to feel incompetent, nervous, and even incapable of opening your home (too small, too much clutter, to many schedules to juggle – all lies, by the way!).
I’m here to equip you with knowledge, systems, and traditions so that you can open your home with ease – and feel confident doing so, no matter the circumstance!

I also understand that your desire to make connections and grow a community is strong. That’s why I’ve written a wealth of information as well as provide resources and products to help you host and create a welcoming atmosphere with ease – no matter your life stage or the state of your home.

My Story
My favorite things to do growing up all involved art, books, and language. I was the kid who was always doodling in class, writing my own name over and over in my notebooks, trying out different letter forms. Art was my favorite subject, and I loved not only drawing, but also playing with letters. I was an avid reader and always had a book with me. I would always be sneaking in a few pages between classes. I’m also a bit of a serial language learner and lover of linguistics. From the time I could take my first foreign language class in school, I was hooked and haven’t stopped learning since.
A librarian by trade, I dreamed of owning my own business while in library school. After working as a librarian for a few years, I started learning calligraphy and Green Country Creative was formed in the fall of 2019. As the years went on, I experimented with various products and services as I honed in on my niche. I’ve always had an interest in and love for the holidays and hospitality, and I’m so excited to be able to share what I’ve learned over the years in these areas!
Today, Green Country Creative has evolved into a resource blog and product shop featuring handcrafted gifts, home decor, and holiday resources to help you foster community in your home. As a Wisconsin maker, I am passionate about supporting other local businesses!
I write all my calligraphy by hand; no fonts are used to create the script in my designs.

In my free time, you can find me spending time with my husband and daughters, getting together with family and friends, enjoying the outdoors, working on something crafty, or finding something to read at the library.
Why "Green Country Creative"?
The inspiration for the name “Green Country Creative” is from a quote in Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien, when Frodo, while at the house of Tom Bombadil, dreams of “a far green country under a swift sunrise.” It’s no secret that Tolkien uses a lot of Christian imagery in his writing, and I think this quote is a beautiful picture of the life to come. It’s a reminder for me that because of Jesus’ sacrifice, I have the hope of heaven. The things of this world are temporary and will pass away. As a Christian, I am not of this world, but belong to another prepared for me. Fostering community in my home also gives a glimpse of what’s to come. Through opening my home in hospitality, I am able to spread this vision to others as well.
