Why You Should Hire a Wedding Calligrapher
As much as it’s normal to me and the calligraphers I know, I do realize that being a calligrapher isn’t a very common job. I also know there are many people who wonder what we even do, how we can help you, and whether it’s worth it. And to be honest, it really all depends on your priorities and what you value. But, I’m here to say that I do believe we provide a lot of value, and so I’d like to share my top reasons why you should hire a wedding calligrapher.
A calligrapher will save you time.
As wedding professionals, calligraphers know all the ins and outs of the wedding industry – from local vendors, to the latest trends, to wedding etiquette! A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, so why should you know everything or even have to research what to do for something that you’ll only do once? With a calligrapher, you can rest assured that you’ll have an expert in your back pocket ready to guide you and answer any questions you may have about your wedding. Rather than scouring EmilyPost.com for wedding invitation etiquette or spending hours (yes, hours) assembling all the parts of your invitation suite to mail out, you can leave it all your calligrapher!
A calligrapher will keep you on schedule.
Save-the-dates, invitations, menus, ceremony programs, welcome signs, thank yous… There’s A LOT of stationery and signs to keep track of for a wedding, and that wasn’t even half of them. Many things require being sent out at specific times, and there’s a lot to keep track of. A calligrapher will manage it all for you and remind you when you need to get things sent or submitted. Your wedding stationery is the first impression of your wedding to your guests.
A calligrapher will help you make an outstanding impression to your guests, giving them a fun peek into your wedding style and the type of event they can expect. When they receive your handmade invitations and see their name written in calligraphy in the envelope, just imagine how excited they will be for your wedding! Who doesn’t love getting gorgeous snail mail?!
You’ll get a cohesive set of stationery & signs.
When working with the same calligrapher on every piece of stationery and every sign, everything will go together, setting the stage for a beautiful, cohesive event. Your wedding shouldn’t be mix-and-matched – it should be intentionally designed!
You’ll have a keepsake forever - that you’ll actually love.
Wedding invitations are one of the only things you’ll keep after the wedding (aside from photos). When your invitation is a work of art that encapsulates the entire feel of your wedding, it’s the perfect keepsake to spark joy and memories of your special day. Being paper, it’s also very easy to display and will last forever (or at least, a VERY long time!). I’m partial to an elegant frame, but if you’re feeling crafty, here are some other ideas for preserving your wedding invitations from Brides.com.
